SESSION 10 : Song of Songs Chapter 4:7-11
A few months after reading the above, I was told by the Lord to gather
certain people together to pray over a young man coming out of serious
drug abuse. As I was seeking the Lord on the prayer strategy for this
case, I was led to Isaiah 30:32 (NIV):
“Every stroke the Lord lays on them with His punishing club will be to
the music of timbrels and harps, as He fights them in battle with the
blows of His arm.”
Following this revelation, we intercessors praised and worshipped the
Lord, while the young man in question just sat and received
strengthening and encouragement from God. It was so easy, and the
sweet presence of Jesus was in the place.
I hope that, after reading the above, you will agree that it is high time
for all of us in the Church of Jesus Christ to understand the vital
importance of praise. When we accepted Christ as our Lord and
Saviour, we signed up for a war—and just like the Shulamite maiden,
we are not only chosen to be His loving Bride but also to be His warrior
Bride, living from the realm of the Spirit. This realm is appropriated
through the praise and worship of Jesus.
When we view things from a spiritual perspective, our whole attitude
toward living changes. It is time to have the eagle eye of God, and not
be like chickens in the chicken coop—squealing and squawking just
because circumstances do not unfold as we had hoped or expected. We
have to be prepared and equipped to stay the course. Our God is always
