SESSION 12 : Song of Songs Chapter 5:2-8 (TPT)
call, and without the cooperation of the Bride, the Holy Spirit will not
utter it.
As it says in Song of Songs 5:2, there is no one else to do this—but as
we do, we discover more of His grace, His love, His kindness, and His
power. We grow in the knowledge of who He really is and can therefore
better portray Him to the world at large.
Returning to the text (5:3): after she had spoken the words “Isn’t that
enough?”, it becomes immediately evident that it obviously wasn’t
enough, because in verse 4, she has another love encounter—as her
heavenly Bridegroom, by His grace, unlocks her heart and melts her
soul to surrender further.
Isn’t this what He does with us? He comes and draws so close that we
agree to whatever He desires, because nothing satisfies like Jesus. You
see, it is all about Him. God does not give us these encounters just so
that we get the fuzzy feelings—it is so much more than that.
Experiencing such deep levels of intimacy with the Lord fuels the
desire to open our hearts to Him regardless of the cost. It is only as we
receive a deeper revelation of His unceasing love and kindness toward
us that we will relinquish all that He desires into His safe hands and do
His bidding.
In verse 5 of the NKJV, it reads: “I arose to open for my beloved, and
my hands dripped with myrrh, my fingers with liquid myrrh on the
handles of the lock.”
