SESSION 13 : Song Of Songs Chapter 5:9-16 (TPT)
“For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which
is Christ Jesus.” (1 Corinthians 3:11)
The Shulamite concludes the passionate accolade of her Beloved by
telling the daughters of Jerusalem that this is the reality of who He truly
is—literally, without flaw. Depending upon which translation you use,
you will read that He is: “Altogether Lovely,” “Lovely in every way,”
or “Perfect from every viewpoint”—these are some of the descriptions
she uses.
Jesus longs for His people to know Him in this way and asks us the
question now: Do we know Him in this manner, or are we still
uncertain? If we truly knew Him as this maiden did, then we would
always trust His plan for our lives. We would go where He bids us go
and do what He asks because we know that He is altogether lovely and
will do nothing other than that which is ultimately for our good.
The invitation is still open to all who will simply come and receive of Him.
