RADICAL LOVE
love-experiences she had gained by being in His presence, His
countenance arose from within her whole being. And although the
brides-to-be were not fully awakened to the truth of what was going on
before them at this present moment, this was in fact Jesus shining
through her—and they found it attractive. It also began to stir desire for
Him in their own hearts.
Notice how, in verse 1 of Chapter 6, they addressed her as a “rare
beauty.” Indeed, she was beautiful—but the beauty was not her own; it
was of the Lord. In Psalm 90, a prayer of Moses, we read in verse 17
(TPT) his exhortation to the Lord:
“O Lord our God, let your sweet beauty rest upon us…”
And how it should be our prayer too.
The world has often seen a misrepresentation of who Jesus really is:
altogether lovely, kind, compassionate, sensitive, and gentle. One who
sympathizes with our weaknesses and stumbles, and never runs out on
us, but instead is always longing for an intimate relationship with the
ones He created. This is the Jesus that people need to see. And the only
way we will ever be like Him is when we spend time beholding His
beauty and receiving His love.
As we behold, we become.
And when we become—we will find that people will follow:
“…We will follow you as you seek after Him.” (Song of Songs 6:1,
TPT)
