RADICAL LOVE
journey. Without His love, grace, and power, we will always fail. But
as we acknowledge and humbly confess our absolute dependence on
Him, receiving and believing the finished work of the Cross (see
Romans 8:35–37), He will bring us through—just like He brought the
Shulamite through—to a deeper revelation of His love.
The veil referred to in verse 7 represents humility. As mentioned above,
she knows that her passionate love for Him has only been made
possible because He first loved her. She loves Him with the overflow
of this love. It is not her love in any way—it is a gift of grace, and it is
totally supernatural!
We must never forget: it is always, all about Him. This truth will protect
us from pride.
We leave this session with the encouraging words of Philippians 2:13
(NIV): “For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to
fulfil His good purpose.”
