SESSION 15 : Song of Songs Chapter 6:8-12
As we remember and focus on Jesus, how can we not be filled with
strength, love, and gratitude toward Him?
The person of Jesus is our true daily Bread, our authentic spiritual food,
our LIFE.
The anointing breaks the yoke
Isaiah 10:27 says: “And it shall be in that day that the burden of the
Assyrian shall depart from your shoulders, and his yoke from your
neck. The yoke shall be destroyed because of fatness (anointing), which
prevents it from going around your neck.”
Bearing in mind that we have just been talking about taking
Communion frequently, notice how this verse says that the yoke will
break because of the fatness of the neck. What is being said here is this:
When Satan (Assyria) puts yokes or burdens upon us that weigh us
down—such as guilt, condemnation, lies, sicknesses, addictions, etc.—
the way to rid ourselves of these things is to grow spiritually “fat.”
Feeding on Jesus causes us to know Him more and see Him as He truly
is. This causes us to grow “fat” in the spirit, to such an extent that we
will no longer be susceptible to the insidious yoke Satan tries to place
on our shoulders. They won’t be such a problem any longer because we
will be assured of God’s supremacy in all things.
