RADICAL LOVE
We need to connect and fellowship with believers who will encourage
us to move forward and upward in our faith through their own
experiential walk with the Lord.
The verse then continues with the exhortation to run. Running
represents obedience in action. We are in a race, and the prize is the
upward call of Christ (see Philippians 3:14). We only obtain the prize
by completing the race. This race is one of faith, which requires
stamina, commitment, and discipline.
Intimacy with the Lord is what will equip us with all we need to reach
the finishing line—because He is the Author and Finisher of our faith:
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of
witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so
easily entangles.
And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our
eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.” (Hebrews 12:1–2
NKJV)
We then see her beseeching Him to take her into His bedroom. There
are only two people allowed in a married couple's bedroom, and the
world is not allowed access. Although there are times to be involved in
corporate worship, times of fellowship in the secret place with the Lord
are of the utmost importance to our spiritual growth. Furthermore, the
Holy Spirit can only do certain things in us when we are face-to-face
with Him alone.
