THE LIFE OF A TEENAGE GIRL
“—But we still need to do one more test… geometry shapes.”
A boy at the back yelled, “What? Why?”
Mr. Clark replied, “Because the other classes have already finished
their whole-year tests. And you guys haven’t.”
“Damn,” Tara mumbled.
I wasn’t all that surprised. I mean, it’s not like we haven’t had a
million tests crammed into one month before. I saw it coming.
Mr. Clark told us we had about ten minutes left before the lunch
bell, so we could “study” if we wanted. But let’s be real—my class?
Not exactly the quiet, focused type. About 30% were actually going
over notes, and the rest? Doing literally anything else.
While I was studying with my best friends, a guy from my class
walked over and said, “Sup, Hoopster.”
It was Caleb—the most annoying guy on earth. Why? Because he’s
always messing with me. Teasing and bothering me… sometimes even
straight-up bullying me. And honestly, there are days I swear I could
strangle him to death.
He looked at me with those smug hazel eyes, and I gave him a
death stare. “What do you want, Caleb?”
“Um, just saying hi?”
I glanced behind him. His little crew was already snickering and
throwing him thumbs-ups.
“Hi, really?” I raised an eyebrow.
“What? I can’t say hi to you now?”
