THE LIFE OF A TEENAGE GIRL
“Relax, at least we had the money to pay for it.”
“Yeah, we had $100—now we have $40! What are you going to
do with $40? Buy toy plushies?”
“Oh, c’mon. I know you’re happy you bought that stuff. Look, I’m
also surprised. But let’s not make it too obvious. You know how my
parents are gonna react—especially my mom.”
“Ugh!” She quickened her pace and reached the house before I did.
The next morning came by quickly, but I woke up to yelling in my
ears. I got dressed and went downstairs to see Mom shouting and Dad
trying to calm her down.
“What’s going on?” I asked, still tired.
“Gigi Elizabeth Blythe!” Oh boy, what did I do now?
“Uh, yes?” I asked, already getting scared.
“You went out last night to get stuff I told you not to get? Hm?
And you dared to spend $60 on stupid things you really don’t need!”
“What? Ho–how did you find out?”
“That doesn’t matter right now! All I need you to do is tell me why
and how you dared to go out last night.”
“You know why.”
Then I went back to my room and slammed the door without
saying a word. I didn’t have the time to explain—I was already tired. I
woke up Alexa, and I immediately thought of something.
“You told them!” I frowned angrily.
“What are you talking about?” she mumbled, scratching her eyes.
“You told them about last night! How could you? I trusted you!”
