A
fter I cried for about five minutes, I heard a knock on the
bathroom door.
“What?” I asked, still irritated.
“Uh… your mom wanted to make sure you’re done.” It was Alexa.
“Are we going now?” I wiped the dried tears off my face.
“Yeah, so you have to hurry up.”
“Okay, I’ll be ready.”
I immediately changed into my outfit and left the bathroom. In the
car, Mom looked at me like she was worried about something and
asked,
“Honey, you know, we can go to your favorite restaurant.”
“Why?” I asked, acting like I didn’t care.
“Well, I know you’re pretty angry right now, so…”
“I don’t care.”
“Huh?” She glanced at the car mirror, tilting it toward me.
“Whatever restaurant is fine!”
Dad sprang right into action and yelled,
“Hey! Don’t shout at your mom like that!”
“Whatever,” I muttered, annoyed.
After that horrendous family day, I went to bed, closed my eyes,
and dreamt of tomorrow—being at school, having good friends, and
having a good day.
