CHAPTER 16
S
o, here was what I was going to do. I took out my phone and
texted Chris and Jayson to meet me at Prakie Park—the same
place where I’d had that hangout with Chris at the restaurant.
It showed that Chris saw the message, but Jayson didn’t. I know he
probably saw the notification and all, but I don’t think he cared to come
to the park. And I really wanted them to come; if not, this advice and
plan weren’t going to work.
I reached the park before either of the guys did. But ten minutes
later, Chris came and saw me sitting on the bench. His face was blank
with boredom, like he didn’t even want to be here.
I waved and got up to say hi. “You came. Thanks.”
“I just want to know the reason.” He shrugged.
I folded my lips and nodded. I didn’t want him to know the plan
yet. It was like a surprise—but since he and Jayson had to think about
it and agree, they both needed to be here to listen, understand, and for
once, know what I meant by the boyfriend plan.
“Uh… let’s wait for Jayson first.”
After a while, Jayson came. He was a bit late, but at least he cared
enough to show up.
I told them to sit on the bench and just hear me out. I explained the
whole boyfriend plan—that I wasn’t chasing love; I just wanted
someone to talk to, hang out with, and spend time around.
