CHAPTER FOURTEEN
MY CHILDREN RESENT ME
B
ecause I had to run away for my life literally,
my tormentor took the privilege of filling the
children’s heads with lies about me. What
happened was, I had to escape by night, hoping that
when he came home, I would be long gone. But that
night, he didn’t come home at all. I later found out that
the children were all alone until the sitter came the next
day. So, they all came up with chips on their shoulders.
To bring them all up, I had to get married quickly. And
because they resented me, my husband resented them,
so they preferred to live with my tormentor, their father.
Although a few good people who knew my situation
back then would tell them the truth, it took years for
them to understand truly.
As for my son, nobody truly loved him as much as I did.
It was only by God’s grace that he was kept out of
