closer. But my baby girl left us, and she is resting in the

Luke 19:1-10 (paraphrase)
The Story of Zacchaeus the Tax Collector
He was not very well-liked in his village. He was a tax
collector. Somehow, he heard that Jesus was coming
into town. He was a very small man, four feet or less.
But he desired to see this Jesus of whom he had heard
so much. Seeing the crowd coming in his direction, he
ran ahead and climbed up in a sycamore tree to get a
good view. Jesus looked up and saw him, then
commanded him to come down right away.
“Today,” he said, “I’ve got to eat lunch at your house.”
He was very nervous because he knew that his house
and his life were not in order. But he obeyed. It’s a good
thing he did, because his life was transformed from that
day on. He lived happily after he paid back the people
all that he had stolen from them in taxes. His name was
Zacchaeus.
