CHAPTER FIFTEEN
W
hen I travelled to England, I was hoping
to find a trace of my oldest daughter's
father, who I thought was still there—
only to be told he had passed away. I shook my head
and thought that all the men who abused me had passed
away; with one exception. May their souls rest in peace.
The children have all given me about fourteen
grandchildren, the last time I checked, and a bunch of
great-grandchildren. I am in my eighties and still going
strong. To GOD be all the praise.
I lost my second-to-last daughter to cancer. She was so
young—just fifty-four. I went to visit her one night at
her apartment, where I slipped and fractured my foot. I
ended up at the hospital, where they put me in a cast.
Needless to say, I stayed at my second-oldest daughter's
house in Ajax for about four weeks. She was very good
to me; I’ll never forget it. We had the opportunity to get
to know each other better during that period and became
