smartest kids in the whole wide world. Remember I told
you that I always wanted to be a teacher? Well, here was
my chance. In the mornings, from nine to twelve, I was
no longer Grandma; I was Miss Hart. I would cover my
face with my hands and say, “Grandma just left, now
pay attention. Good morning, children.” Then our
lessons would begin—usually math or reading. We had
an hour lunch, then back to class until four.
Without boasting, they were exceptionally smart when
they started school, and the teachers were amazed. I
trust that they have maintained it and are successful in
whatever field they choose to pursue. May our Heavenly
Father watch over them always.
Matthew 19:14-15 (paraphrase) — Jesus said that
children should always be allowed to come to Him,
because that is what the Kingdom looks like.
So, He took them up one by one and blessed them.
At nine and ten years of age, they are very independent
and don’t need me much.
