SESSION 7
In the final verse of this session, we see that the Shulamite is once again
called to a time of waiting upon the Lord. During this time of re-
dedication, the Jerusalem maidens are instructed not to disturb her
apparent state of inactivity until she herself—by the Holy Spirit’s
prompting—senses that she is ready to move forward.
I have mentioned before that the Jerusalem maidens are immature
believers who have yet to understand the benefits of just being with the
Lord, as opposed to constantly doing. They can be used as instruments
of the enemy to prevent the deep purposes of God from coming to
fruition, because they seek to call others to seasons of activity of which
He has no part.
It is important that, as believers, we respect our brothers and sisters and
do not attempt to manipulate or control their Christian walk—which,
after all, is a matter for the Lord and the individual to pursue.
