RADICAL LOVE
foremost goal of our lives—before ministry, before position, and before
anything else.
The end of that verse from Jeremiah ends sadly with the words:
“…but they would not listen.”
My question to all of us, including myself, is: Will we heed the call to
intimacy by the Holy Spirit for the Church in these days?
Returning now to verse 4, the latter part reads:
“Now I’ll bring Him back to the temple within, where I was given new
birth—into my innermost parts, the place of my conceiving.”
This is an important verse because it firstly reminds us that we host
Jesus within us by His Spirit, in our innermost being (1 Corinthians
6:19). It also tells us that this is the place of conceiving. As I looked at
these words, I felt the Lord impress upon me His desire for us to
conceive ever-increasing revelation about who Jesus really is.
For this to happen, we have to allow the Holy Spirit to draw us
inward—into stillness, rest, and times of simply waiting on the Lord.
So often, we think we have to keep talking to God, but actually, He
already knows everything about us. On the other hand, no matter how
mature we are, we still know so little of His greatness and majesty,
because He is without end. However, as we come before Him as meek
children, in submission to His authority in our lives, revelations of the
Spirit will be birthed within us—for His greater glory.
