Self must be de-throned and the Lord enthroned upon our hearts and
over our lives. When the Lord sees our willingness to forsake
everything to love Him more deeply and follow Him more closely, He
takes us into a deeper level of understanding of His love. This then
leads to a willingness for greater surrender, which opens us up to

consummation, which is what the writer is referring to in the book of
Ephesians:
“[That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience
for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge
[without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your
being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of
the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with
God Himself]!” (Ephesians 3:19, AMPC)

the gifts of God in order to reach God Himself, God will shower you
with the very gifts that you have set aside. But He quickly removes
Himself from those who are only seeking His gifts and His graces and
not Him alone.”
Verse 4 (NIV) then continues with the daughters of Jerusalem
