RADICAL LOVE
“Take me with you. Come, let us run! The king has brought me into his
bedroom. How happy we are for you, O king. We praise your love even
more than wine.”
Several points stood out to me here. Firstly, she uses the singular:
“Take me...” and then she says “Come, let us run…” and moves into
the plural. There always have to be those who will forge the way ahead
into greater intimacy with the Lord and the new moves of the Spirit.
The Shulamite is such a one. She is a type of forerunner, carrying the
bridal anointing, and others who have watched and seen her journey are
also encouraged to run after Him.
We need to connect and fellowship with believers who will encourage
us to move forward and upward in our faith through their own
experiential walk with the Lord.
The verse then continues with the exhortation to run. Running
represents obedience in action. We are in a race, and the prize is the
upward call of Christ (see Philippians 3:14). We only obtain the prize
by completing the race. This race is one of faith, which requires
stamina, commitment, and discipline.
Intimacy with the Lord is what will equip us with all we need to reach
the finishing line—because He is the Author and Finisher of our faith:
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of
witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so
easily entangles.
