To give students the opportunity to become familiar with the cab layout
and the content of the appliance lockers.

Recap

Recap main points from previous session.

Cab familiarisation

Take students to the appliance and run through all lights, switches and
PTO switches within the cab. Go over their function.

Cover the following:

• Fire and Emergency NZ Radio and
switches

• emergency beacons/lights functions

• exhaust brake switch

• transmission retarder switch

• all PTO switches

• aerial ladder engagement

• warning lights

• power outlet in crew area

• cruise control

• power divider/diff locks (where applicable)

• drivers seat operation

• air bag suspension remote control.
