To train students in how to site and level the appliance ready for
operation on sloping and uneven ground.

Manual jacking on hills

Manual operation of jacks

Instructor demonstrate manual jacking on a hill and explain the
process.

Note:

• Ensure the slope is within the operating parameters of the appliance
on any slope.

• Front axle brakes on, if fitted, to prevent the possibility of the
appliance sliding on the slope before the rear braked wheels make
contact.

Following the demonstration, have all the students rotate through this
procedure.
