11. Marketing professionals

                  Finding the personal support crew to help you focus more time on your wealth, your health, and your family
               should begin as soon as possible. It is imperative that whatever team you assemble be a team that will buy into your
               vision and take action to meet that vision. The team has to act; it cannot just talk or stall in analysis paralysis. Or
               you’ll be a whole lot wiser, but not a lot wealthier.

               Getting the Bigger, Better Brain

               The first step is to discover the players in the field. Figure out their names, their areas of expertise, and their special
               talent. Round up recommendations from people you respect about those with whom they’ve worked and then find a
               way to reach the latter. Approach the wealthiest, most successful, and well-connected people you know; ask them
               who they use and if they would be willing to make introductions for you.
                  As you start to attract the best and brightest to your team, it might be difficult to first create access and then
               afford them. But it will be well worth your time and your effort. I’ve found that the inexpensive and easily
               accessible professionals often prove to be far more expensive in the long run. Wealthy people and wealth-building
               professionals know that time is money, and they tend to cut right to the chase. They’ve already spent years learning
               the ropes and exactly where to go and have usually figured out the best routes. Frequently, they can do more with a
               single phone call than others can produce in months of diligent effort. Additionally, the top experts are usually close
               to the inner circle of motion and action. They know the latest industry buzz and developments, the top deal and the
               dealmakers, and what’s currently being pursued and what’s needed in that pursuit.
                  If you build a reputation for working only with the best, then only the best will want to work with you. Top
               people can put you into lucrative investments that you might never find on your own, and they can advise you on
               whom to avoid and when to pass on an opportunity, which can save you a lot of time, money, and frustration. Top
               talent will also connect you with other top talent and open up doors that otherwise might be closed. Experts know
               other experts, and have contacts who can raise the level of your game. They can move you up to the bigger and more
               profitable leagues where the players are in for higher stakes.
                  When you build a great team and work with the best, you can’t help but improve your own proficiency, the speed
               and efficiency with which you fast-forward your growth, and the extent to which the work becomes more fulfilling
               and enjoyable. Working with the best will motivate you to reach new heights.
                  As you know, there’s usually no need to reinvent the wheel. Whatever you hope to accomplish has most likely
               been done in one form or another. You should take the time to find a mentor who has done some variation of your
               vision rather than impede and slow your progress by trying to be clever and go it alone. Experience and know-how
               are invaluable, as are contacts and networks. Speed your growth by tapping into the growth of others and hitching on
               to the ride.
                  If you’re not sure what your utility positions are, remember that as the team leader you are always leading your
               team to the vision, the strategies that support that vision, and then down into the tactics. These tactics become the
               job descriptions for your utility players.
                  Utility players are as crucial and indispensable to the team as the franchise players, whom I call my Strategic
               Partners, and, like the franchise players, the best are usually the best. These people provide the logistics and support
               services you need to make each goal, and ultimately your vision, happen. If you are currently handling all the
               logistics in your life and your business, you may be holding yourself back.
                  In wealth building there is no special prize for martyrs or people who believe they can do it all. Though you or
               others may see you as Superman or Wonder Woman, and though you really might have many of their super and
               wonderful powers, you also live in the real world, where there are only 168 hours in the week.
                  Think about all the great ways you could be making money if you did not spend time doing work that others
               could do for you. Just as you took the time to look at where you’re spending your money every month, it is
               important that you take a look at where you are spending your time. You may discover that there are many tasks that
               literally rob you of hours you could better spend on your wealth-building efforts.
                  The best of the best, both the utility and franchise players, will join your team if they feel it’s going to be
               successful. Many people want to be a part of something great, and if you are leading toward greatness, many people
               will want to go with you.
