“Yeah, but we got to visit here and meet you. That is special,
too.” He lifted his glass and toasted her. She lifted hers back
and took the opportunity to move even closer.



“You know,” she said, “I have a few days off coming to me.
How about we go to see the sights of the Capitol together, my
treat?”


“Okay.” The words flew out of his mouth before he could even
have a moment to think about it. He would have left right then
and left Trash and Linda to fend for themselves, had she asked
him to. His head bobbed back and forth a little as he seemed
to bob up and down all over. It was something he did when he

was overexcited. Janine saw it, giggled to herself as she found
it innocently cute and moved even closer to him.


“Where are you staying?” she asked as she looked at him out
of the corners of her eyes.


“We are spending the night here, I think.” He answered. She

laughed a little and said.


“Which room are you staying in, silly?”


“I have no idea. They showed it to me, but I am lost now. I
don’t think I could find my way back without help. It was a
cross between a ballroom and a bedroom with a huge window”
