Chapter 4








Gnurdleigh was understandably angry. As soon as he emptied
his bladder, he would give that navigational system a piece of
his mind! He donned the space suit, which was lavender with
white lace, light blue rhinestones and a pink-polkadotted
breathing apparatus, punched the button to activate the
airlock, and stumbled outside. What he saw shocked him. This
planet, a barren ‘rock and water ball’ only a few billion years
ago, was now a lush, green, rain-forest. He relieved himself on
a giant fern and marveled at the beauty of all the vegetation.



He saw trees, moss, ferns, flowers, vines, mushrooms, insects
and as he swiveled his head to the left, he saw the many giant,
pointed, razor-sharp teeth of a monstrous animal as it bit his
left arm off at the shoulder. Screaming in panic he instinctively
jumped back into the airlock, bashing the controls frantically
with his right hand. The automated pilot giggled hysterically.

"Great show, lefty!" it said. The door closed painfully slowly,
but just fast enough to keep the beast from coming back for
seconds. The autopilot chuckled, then groaned in
disappointment.


What Gnurdleigh failed to realize is that the small amount of
genetic material he had deposited the last time he peed on this
planet had contained some microbes which flourished, evolved,
