Update:

The ATPA Analyst Working Group has been “meeting” every other month via the Webex Platform.

January 2020
• ATPA AWG meeting- Presentation by NICB- Aaron Soline, Director, Data Analytics presented on
NICB’s functions, capabilities, and outreach.

March 2020
• ATPA AWG meeting was cancelled, due in part to the uncertainty and logistics of working
remotely/from home. April 2020-
• Meeting between ATPA AWG Co-Chairs (Matt Helmkamp and Sev Vasquez) and IAATI Oversight
Directors (Reg Phillips and Robert Force) discussed ATPA AWG.

April 2020
• ATPA AWG members were invited to attend the IAATI “meeting” re FBI Crime Data Explorer and
NIBRS Overview by James Travelstead, FBI.
• CATPA- presentation of Cloud-Based Stolen Vehicle Database Repository- modelled after the CO
Stolen Vehicle Database Repository managed by CO ATICC
• CARFAX for Police provided information on their Weekly Webinar Series in which they provided
free training on “Investigative Tools Webinar” and were offering Free Access to Law Enforcement.
This was pushed out to the ATPA AWG distribution list.
• “Auto Theft Analysis- A Basic Guide”- originated by ATPA AWG Co-Chair Matt Helmkamp-
Presented to the ATPA AWG for review and feedback. The purpose is to provide ATPAs looking to
hire analysts, with an overview as well as to provide some level of standardization for the current
analysts involved with ATPAs.
