2- prolapse of the ovary leads to deyspareunia and ovarian congestion
3- Congestion of the ovaries may cause polymenorrhoea
The Urinary Tract
1) In the cystocele, there is descent of the base of the bladder leading to difficulty
of micturition (dysuria)
2) Retention of urine causes infection and cystitis.
3) Stress incontinence
4) In severe degree of prolapse uterus become obstructed leading to hydroureter
and hydronephrosis.
Clinical picture & Diagnosis
A) Symptoms:
1- Sensation of heaviness.
2- A swelling which protrudes from the vagina on standing or straining a disappear
when the patient lies down.
3- Low back pain
4- Pain on the groin area due to traction on round ligaments.
Symptoms of pelvic congestion
1) Urinary symptoms may occur such as: difficult of micturition, retention of urine
causes infection, stress incontinence.
2) Rectal symptoms may occur with rectocele such as; heaviness in the rectum and
dyschezia; piles may develop due to straining.
