Sunday Dinner
Submitted By Joyce Myrtle Dodson DeSoto
Ingredients:
1-2 lb ground beef
1 pkg meat loaf spices
1-2 eggs
flour
1-2 onions
1 cabbage
3-6 carrots
several potatoes
salt and pepper to taste
1 Reynolds Oven Bag (These come in different sizes.
I use the large size.)
Mix ground beef, eggs, spices, and enough flour to
make it stick together. Make into patties. Peel and
wash and cut vegetables into chunks. Place all the
ingredients into the cooking bag (place the bag on
a cookie sheet) with the potatoes on the bottom
and beef patties on top. Add enough water to cover
bottom of bag. Close bag and cook according to
directions on bag box. Takes about 45 minutes or
until potatoes and carrots feel tender when poked
with a fork. Feeds 4-6.
I used to prepare this on Sunday Morning (I made
the extra large bags full then) hence the name
Sunday Dinner. It was easy to fix, inexpensive, fed a
lot of people and all the family liked it. This is a
recipe I made up. Remember!!! Punch a hole in the bag
or it will explode in the oven!!!
