Tea Cakes #4-Norma Lockett's Tea Cakes

                                    Ingredients:

                                    3 cups flour
                                    1 cup sugar
                                    2½ sticks margarine
                                    1 tsp baking soda
                                    1 tsp baking powder
                                    1 Tbsp buttermilk
                                    1 egg
                                    2 tsp vanilla

                                    Cream sugar and margarine. Beat in egg, buttermilk
                                    and vanilla. Mix flour, soda and baking powder. Add
                                    to creamed mixture in small amounts. Mix well after
                                    each addition. Divide dough in 2 parts. Wrap in
                                    plastic wrap or wax paper. Refrigerate 30 minutes -1
                                    hour. Roll out dough on lightly floured surface. Cut
                                    in desire shapes ¼" thick. Bake at 350°F until lightly
                                    brown.

                                    Delicious plain or decorated or frosted. Ed's
                                    favorite. Miss Norma Lockett taught school at Village
                                    and was my patient at Dr. Pullig's office in Magnolia.
