Chromebook and mobile hotspot distribution, athletics, payroll, academic updates, and best
practices in helping to contain the spread of coronavirus. Food Service and Technology Department
have provided the Communications Department with the total number of meals and devices
distributed weekly, respectively. This data has been included in weekly update emails to our
stakeholders to display transparency and effectiveness in our efforts to ensure all students are able
to stay connected during extended closure.
In partnership with the Superintendent’s Office, Donovan Group and Global 360 Marketing, the
Communications Department produced two video updates to stakeholders that effectively
disseminated the messages outlined in the district’s weekly emails to families, staff and the
community. The video published on March 22 was produced by the Communications Department
and edited by the Donovan Group. The video published on March 31 was co-produced by the
Communications Department and Global 360 Marketing and edited by Global 360 Marketing.
These videos offer direct messaging from district leadership to the community on several issues as
they relate to the COVID-19 crisis, such as end-of-year ceremonies, food service information, and
new district initiatives. Moving forward, it is recommended to distribute video messages on a bi-
weekly basis, in conjunction with weekly emails that are distributed to our stakeholders.
The Communications Department hosted the introductory Community Relations Committee
meeting on March 3, 2020. The purpose of this meeting was to introduce committee members,
discuss the charge of the committee, determine future meeting dates and give an update on the
communication’s timeline for the district. The committee consists of ten community members and
one student and planned to meet the first Tuesday of every month. However, due to the COVID-19
pandemic, all meetings are postponed until further notice.
In April 2020, the Communications Department will distribute the March/April 2020 e-newsletter
and transition guide, publish the digital hub on the district’s website that contains 2020-21 school
year information, collaborate with Director of Athletics, Activities, and Transportation to promote
the student mascot design contest, begin drafting the May/quarterly newsletter, and continue to
communicate to all families the district’s upcoming changes as it relates to consolidation.

March has certainly been a trying and challenging month for students and staff. Our top priority is
the safety and health of our entire school community.
Our teachers, students, and parents continue to adjust to the e-learning format.
We would like to recognize our maintenance and food service departments. Sam Dixon and his
staff have been working hard to clean and sanitize our building so we have a safe environment
when we return. Mike Humenik and the kitchen staff are continuing to feed the children in our
community through the free food program.
We are hopeful to return to a normal in-school experience as soon as safely possible.
