Job Fairs
Due to COVID 19 the superintendent's commission job fair at Rich South High School was cancelled.
The job fair was designed to recruit hard to fill positions and provides an opportunity for elementary
and high school districts to recruit during the prime hiring season. Although 227 will had a reduction
in force several positions due to specialized certifications will be open for the next school term. The
District will move forward in these unprecedented times and will conduct virtual interviews.
Policy Update
Press Plus has released policy issue 103. The District will review the new policies through the
committee of the whole. Policies that do not have substantive changes do not require a first and second
reading The District is working toward utilizing these policies to create an administrative procedures
manual. The District anticipates completion of the manual by the end of the school year and will
provide an in-service for all administrators.
From the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services
Educational Services
1. Collaborated with Operations, Communications, and Human Resources to coordinate responses
to the extended closure as a result of COVID-19 and in order to keep families, staff,
stakeholders informed about all of our combined efforts to support e-Learning.
2. Collaborated with multiple stakeholders including district and campus level administrators,
teacher association leadership, counselors and registrars to finalize Remote Learning Plan
during COVID-19.
3. Collaborated with various educational partners to support Remote Learning for various student
groups and programs including the College Board, NOLA Education, and the Homewood
Science Center/Girls STEAM Ahead (GSA).
4. Worked with Pepper Construction to develop two internships for our students this summer, on
is project management and the other in building construction sciences. These internships will
expose students interested in those two career paths.
5. Staff Unification activities have been planned as part of the school consolidation effort to bring
staff together to get them accustomed to their new campus, staff and administrators prior to the
start of the 2020-2021 school year.
