DEPARTMENT OF BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS
                                                    ANNUAL REPORT
                                                                                                 2020 -2021

This past year the Buildings and Grounds endured a pandemic that took place across the
country. This impacted the responsibility and created a new cleaning protocols for the
buildings and grounds department. The buildings and grounds continues to provide
quality service to ensure our schools are clean, safe as well as environmentally
conducive for learning . The department accomplishes these goals through many ways,
including completing daily work orders needed to maintain normal operations for
district facilities. In addition the department continues to meet state and local
compliance standards, identifying cost reductions on facility assets and energy
consumption, optimizing maintenance resources, eliminating waste and initiating
                    building projects and renovations.

The buildings and grounds department achieve this work by planning, organizing and
coordinating. The department continues to stay focus and works hard to be a predictive
and preventative organization. This increases the department efficiency and
effectiveness while reducing expenditures. Accomplishing these initiatives with the use
of electronic tools, planning, coordination and ensuring cohesiveness across the
                    building and grounds department.

The main focus for the Department of Buildings and Grounds is always the health and
safety of our students and stakeholders. Monitoring facility structures, building
materials, indoor air quality, and following green cleaning standards are some of the
ways in which we keep the buildings safe. In November our district cleaning guide was
updated to meet the CDC guide lines for Cov-19 cleaning and disinfecting protocol. In
addition we scheduled a retraining with the district custodian staff through the
assistance of the district chemical company provider. This review ensures that our staff
maximizing cleaning efficiency and provides them with the basic techniques to keep our
                    district facilities safe and clean.

Ultimately, the Department of Buildings and Grounds is service oriented and dedicate
to the success of students. Buildings and Grounds combines its supports with all
departments in order to meet the goals of Rich Township High School District 227 and
help to provide an innovative school district that provides a foundation of opportunities
                    for students to thrive.
