Remote Learning Update

Students will remain in remote learning tentatively until January 19, 2021. The first semester will end
on December 18, 2020. The Office of Educational Services is implementing the following resources
to support the success of every student:

                Grants

Rich Township High School District was awarded the Scaling Education Pathways in Illinois Grant in the
amount of $14,000, and as a result, we will be able to prepare students to pursue a career as a teacher. The
Scaling Education Pathways in Illinois initiative focuses on implementing the College and Career Pathway
Endorsement (CCPE) requirements for Education Pathways, which include early college credits, transitional
instruction, and work-based learning in addition to traditional coursework. Other educational partners forming
the collective will be Thornton Township High School district 205, Loyola University, Northern Illinois
University, Prairie State College, and the Golden Apple Scholars Program.
               Virtual Raptor Room

Teachers, social workers, and the tech team collaborated to create a new website that will act as a virtual
resource to help our students, staff, and parents relax and destress. The Virtual Raptor Relaxation Room
Website offers a variety of resources, from meditation techniques to relaxing music to coloring pages.
This resource is very timely as we approach the holiday season. A formal presentation will occur at the
               December Board Meeting.
