Working with Prairie State and campus administration, students are currently being enrolled in the
Early College Programs. Seniors who were enrolled in the Fall Semester will continue taking courses
in the areas of Early College (English, Math, Social Science) or Emergency Medical Technician
(EMT). We are offering two additional cohorts for seniors to enroll in the Certified Nursing Assistant
(CNA) program and the Early College program. Students new to the Early College Program this
spring are enrolled in the courses offered this past fall. The placement testing is completed, and
students are being enrolled.
Curriculum
In addressing student engagement, administrators and teachers are working to identify essential skills
and standards necessary for students to learn as they progress through the semester. The work leads to
identifying best practices for student success and engagement.
Counselors will also begin discussions with students around course selection for the 2021-22 school
year. The ILT has met to streamline the course offerings which reflect the academy structure of Rich
Township High School.
Career Technical Education (CTE)
This month we are meeting with our advisory board for Agricultural Science. We will develop a vision
and specific courses, staff needs, resource needs, and how to generate students’ interest. The advisory
board will meet to complete the grant application for the 2021-2022 school year.

Working with our feeder schools, we are organizing a way to infuse career exploration in the 8 grade
experience. We are working on a pilot program with the vendor Major Clarity. The objective is to
provide students access to explore careers through a customized curriculum. Videos, hands-on
activities, and a problem-solving are part of the experience. Additionally, there are assessments which
capture their interests and learning styles.
