P. 63

 If we look at Paul’s encounter with the Lord, do you
think we will immediately know when to stop praying
                        for something?
 Why did God set limits for Paul’s prayer? 2Corinthians
                        12:7
 How does this apply to us?
 What were the final results for Paul in the way God
                        answered his prayer? (vv 9-10)
 How would you describe the purposes of God for your
                        own lives?

                                      APPLICATION

               a. How would you describe God’s purposes for your own life in
the way He answers your prayers?
               b. Have you ever been thankful that God did not answer what
you prayed for or that He would protect you against
yourself? Do you want to share?

                                     DIGGING DEEPER

When God set limits for us, also in our prayers, it is always for our
good. The promise God gives in Romans 8:28 also applies to our
prayer life. The limits He sets are never at whim or random. He
always wants to glorify Himself through our lives and He always
wants to protect us against ourselves. If we trust God completely,
we will even, like Paul, rejoice in the limits God set for us and will
acknowledge that God always loves us for the sake of His own Son,
              Jesus Christ.
