ANSWERED PRAYER

“It is answered prayer which brings praying out of the realm of, dead
things, and makes praying a thing of life and power. It is the answer to
prayer which brings things to pass, changes the natural trend of
                                                                 6
things, and orders all things according to the will of God.”

9.1 Asking and Answering in the Name of Jesus

                  Read John 14:13-14, John 15:16, and John 16:23-27

 Discuss what you just read. What expression is very
prominent in all these verses? What do you think Jesus
                        wanted us to understand?

                  Read Exodus 3:14.

 How does God express His being?
 What is the difference between giving names today and
name-giving in Biblical times (see Genesis 32:28)? What
is the difference between man’s name/s and the names
                        of God?

                  Read Acts 3:6, 16.

 Did Peter mean that it was the name “Jesus” that
healed the lame beggar? Motivate your answer.

                                      APPLICATION

               1. Why do we have to ask something in the name of Jesus
                   Christ?
               2. Someone feel very unworthy to pray to God for healing, for
prosperity, well, for anything. How would you counsel such
a person? Why does God answer our prayers?
