Abstract We've never seen technology move as quickly as we have now. The installation of a
computer chip may be observed all across the world. Humans are on the search for a self-
contained system that will make their lives easier. This article details a design and development
initiative for an autonomous guided vehicle (AGV). An AGV is a self-driving vehicle that is
frequently employed in material transportation in an automated production line or in an
automated storage and retrieval system. This AGV is controlled by an electronic software to
transport materials or parts to a precise location. The manual handling allowed the worker to
carry, push and pull the trailer carrying the fragmented product. However, those activities can
cause ergonomic effects on employees, such as Low-back Disorder (LBD). Work-related LBD
is one of the types of work-related musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) caused by the combined
effects of faulty mechanics of the body, poor balance, painful movement, and incorrect
techniques of lifting. The main focus for this project is to fabricate an AGV that can replace
the manual handling and able to bring goods to a particular location without workers help and
more importantly reducing the cost and increasing the flexibility. For this propose an AGV is
basically modeled and designed with CATIA software. This AGV model is constructed as an
Automated Guided Carts (AGC) that can travel and move in small area or limited space. The
microcontroller is the primary brain that regulates all environmental responses and navigation.
The AGV will then continually adjust the speed of the wheels that continue to travel along the
pathways until it reaches its destination. The AGV will return to loading station. This project
involves the design and manufacturing of hardware and circuitry.
