The capital adequacy ratio (CAR) is a measurement of a bank's available capital
expressed as a percentage of a bank's risk-weighted credit exposures. Based on the
trend analysis Bank Pembangunan Berhad has the highest CAR Ratio in 2018 which

is 37.45%, compared to 33.78% in 2017 and 34.59% in 2016. It can be concluded that,
the higher the capital adequacy ratios a bank has, the greater the level of unexpected

losses it can absorb before becoming insolvent.
