Indian, chinese, malay food and more. You can find all of
these under one roof. The food sold at hawker centres is
a gastronomical delight.
Hawker centres in Singapore are very convenient as you
can find them at every corner of each HDB block.
For me, my favourite hawker centre is the one at Geylang
Serai. When I was there the last time, I decided to try a
plate of chicken rice. ”Ah boy, what do you want?” the
nice aunty said. Before I ordered my food, I always put a
tissue packet on the table to reserve it.
I took one bite from the chicken rice. It tasted so
delicious that I had to order more. After that, I headed
to the drinks stall. I ordered a Teh O Ice and everything
about it was perfect.
Hawker centres are also open from 6 am to 10 pm,
meaning you can eat lunch, breakfast, and dinner all in “For less than $2, I got a plate full of flavour,
one place. Hawker centres are also super clean, and all kindness, and culture — hawker centres truly
of the stall workers are so chill and kind. I think that a are better than any five-star restaurant.”
hawker centre is better than a five-star restaurant. In my
humble opinion, I rate hawker centres a 10 out of 10.

Something about hawker centres is that many P6.2
generations pass down all the food cooked by the North Spring Primary School
hawkers, and the taste is just as good. As the saying
goes, old is gold. Indeed!
Do you like it when the hawkers give you a huge portion
for less than $2? They are so generous when they pile
the food onto our plates. Hawker centres are truly a food
paradise. The food always comes to your table in less
than five minutes. Piping hot, too. How do the hawkers
do it? To me, this is culinary magic!
