“We finally made it!” I said as I stumbled out of the car.
We had finally arrived at my favourite hawker centre. It
is located right outside the Cove LRT station.
Although it is not as popular as other hawker centres
in the heart of Singapore, it was my favourite for its
duck rice, which was always paired with cucumbers and
a mysterious sweet and sour sauce that melts in your
mouth.
But this time, I wanted to try something new. So I let
my dad order for the family. Hawker Centre serves as
a vibrant social environment in which we can chit-chat.
I found myself putting down my phone to talk to my
siblings while we waited for our meal.
