THE NYAA YOUTH LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES
DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC IN 2020
Introduction of NYAA Mobile Apps and Virtual Platforms
People around the world have been affected by the COVID-19 outbreak. As a result, schools, youth, and
community organisations were closed, and people were confined to their homes to reduce the spread of the
virus.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, schools suspended all physical activities, especially the CCA. As such, students’
participation in the NYAA programme came to a standstill. However, the NYAA has developed mobile apps and
a web-based system where students can continue their activities from home or any location to ensure that
they can continue their activities without disruption. Students need to stay engaged, active, and healthy, safely
and positively through ZOOM and other virtual platforms. Leveraging technology is one way to move forward.
Many meetings and training programmes were conducted online.
NYAA developed new mobile apps during the
COVID-19 pandemic.
