“NYAA is a meaningful journey of self-discovery. As a self-directed programme, you identify your own
needs, design your journey, and take charge of your progress. Through this process, you become more
self-aware – of what you are good at, what your shortcomings are, and how to do better. You learn
patience, perseverance and humility. At the same time, I hope that you also develop your leadership
skills, self-reliance, sense of service, and responsibility to yourselves and society.
I am glad that many of you have committed time and energy to serving your community and to help
those in need around you. Your acts of kindness and compassion will make a difference in their lives
and help us become a stronger, more inclusive, and more resilient society.”

“This has been a challenging period for all of us to manage the impact of the COVID-19
pandemic. And that is why your achievements this year have taken on greater
significance. We are very proud of what you have done and how you have risen to
the challenges and given up your time and efforts to serve the community and help
those who are more disadvantaged and vulnerable. I am sure the experiences and
lessons from the programme will continue to guide you through life and inspire all of
you to be the change you want to see around you. So congratulations once again, and
all the best in your continued learning journey.”
