Showing Appreciation To Our Frontline Workers
Ms Livia Chng, an Associate Director with the
Sustainability and Stewardship Group, Temasek
Holdings and an NYAA Gold Award holder (2006
cohort), founded Refresh in 2016. She and her team
repurposed floral wedding arrangements instead of
sending them to landfills.
Today, with the support of a group of dedicated
volunteers, the social initiative recycled Valentine’s
Day and Wedding Day flowers and gave them a new
lease of life. Showing appreciation to our COVID-19
frontline workers in hospitals as we count life by the
moments that matter, and sometimes, it is as simple
as being there for them.

Mr Aaron Goh, a medical student with the Lee Kong
Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological
University and an NYAA Gold Award holder (2017
cohort), and a group of medical students played
their part during these trying times. They supported
young people worldwide through letters and videos of
encouragement to uplift their spirit. In addition, they
posted notes and videos on social media in about 15
languages worldwide.
Medical students worldwide published letters urging
their peers to “stay home and practice physical
distancing whenever possible” as they believe youth
are more receptive to listening to others. Hence, the
group supported frontline workers worldwide by
spreading positive messages to uplift the spirit during
these trying times. Mr Aaron Goh
