‘Teaching’ The Law Into Their Own Hands
Mr Chang Zi Qian, a co-founder of Intellex Stacks
and an NYAA Gold Award holder (2006 Cohort),
developed an envisioned AI application to help
lawyers sort documents within minutes in
preparation for court hearings. Creating the AI-
driven knowledge management platform helped
lawyers maximise their collective knowledge
intelligently in their profession.

In 2010, Mr Chang Zi Qian led the Singapore
Management University team to win the Monroe
E Price International Media Law Moot Court
Competition held at Oxford University. Mr Chang
also represented the NYAA Singapore at the
Leaders of Tomorrow of the St. Gallen Symposium
in Switzerland in 2011 and 2014. In addition,
Mr Chang launched Intellex Stacks, an AI-driven
knowledge management platform on the law, in Mr Chang Zi Qian

Developing New Enzyme Products With A Particular Focus On Biofuel

Many NYAA Gold Award holders based overseas
have also made a significant scientific breakthrough.
For example, Dr Marina Chow, Senior Scientist
at DuPont Nutrition & Biosciences in Palo Alto,
California, United States and an NYAA Gold Award
holder (2004 cohort), is an expert in renewable
biofuels.

Dr Chow has actively developed new enzyme
products, focusing on biofuel applications and
collaborates with international interdisciplinary
teams with members from Research and
Development, Business, Manufacturing and
Regulatory to create new product formats. Dr Chow
was highlighted in the American Scientific Journal Dr Marina Chow
in 2020 as a versatile world-class scientist in the NYAA Gold Award holder (2004 Cohort)
industrial biotechnology field.

Advisory Council On Community Relations In Defence

Mr Eugene Seah, Managing Director, Surbana
Technologies and an NYAA Gold Award holder
(1995 Cohort) and Deputy Chairman, NYAA Council,
has been actively serving on the Advisory Council
on Community Relations in Defence (ACCORD) for
many years.

Mr Seah has been reappointed as ACCORD Employer
and Business (Member) of the Advisory Council on
Community Relations in Defence by Dr Ng Eng Hen,
Minister for Defence, on 24 September 2021. Mr Eugene Seah
