World News Day 2020

NYAA played a crucial role in World News Day 2020. The
NYAA produced a documentary highlighting the NYAA
Gold Award Holders’ Alumni members: Mr Darren
Soh, architecture and landscape photographer; Mr
Roddy Mu, Managing Director, Wanhe International
Singapore and Ms Cheryl Lee, for their contributions
to the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The documentary was shown in more than 180
countries during World News Day on 28 September
2020. The NYAA video documentary on “How You
Can Contribute” was compiled by Mr Lee Zhong Han,
an NYAA Gold Award holder (2019 Cohort) with the
Singapore University of Social Sciences.

NYAA Council was very encouraged that the video
documentary on “How You Can Help” received an
overwhelming response from the global audience.

Sustainability Champion Steering Mandai Eco-Tourism Project

Dr Angela Lee Hui Mien, Vice-President of
Sustainability at Mandai Park Development and an
NYAA Gold Award holder (2002 Cohort), is committed
to the vision of sustainable populations of wildlife
and human communities thriving in functioning
ecosystems. Dr Lee’s responsibility includes connecting
people with nature, championing sustainable living,
and supporting conservation efforts to safeguard
wildlife and habitats. In October 2020, MediaCorp
News highlighted Dr Lee as Singapore’s Sustainability
Champion, steering Mandai’s upcoming eco-tourism.
