Blue Ocean Aquaculture Technology

            Introduction

Blue Ocean Aquaculture Technology Pte Ltd. (BOAT) is a
Singapore-based company, that has created a unique, large-
scale indoor fish farming system (Figure 1). BOAT operates
from a converted warehouse in Tuas, on the western side of
            Singapore.

As a space-saving way of farming fish, factory-based indoor
farming shields the fish from environmental risks like
plankton blooms and water contamination. BOAT has given
its indoor aquaculture farm’s the name “FIN” - Farmed Indoor
with Nano-oxygen. Their aim for FIN is to offer consumers
fresh, convenient, and tasty seafood directly.
Figure 1- Fish farming at Blue Ocean Aquaculture
                                                                    Technology (BOAT).
Pristine water is crucial for the health and flavour of fish,
and BOAT has made extensive efforts to ensure that
their fish thrive in the best possible conditions. The farm
employs nanobubble technology to create an oxygen-rich
environment in their tanks (Figure 2). These tiny bubbles,
measuring just 100 nanometres and invisible to the naked
eye, dissolve into the water. This enriches the water and
            eliminates bacteria.

While utilising advanced technologies like Nano-oxygen
technology to produce fish in Singapore, BOAT supplies up
to 18 metric tons of Hybrid Grouper and Jade Perch per year.
