Conclusion
This project has inspired EcoPlus Manufacturing Pte Ltd to prioritise environmental sustainability and continuously reduce
carbon emissions. It has also fostered greater teamwork and raised our collective awareness about sustainability challenges.
We have deepened our understanding of how business operations impact the environment and how, by working together, we
can address issues that contribute to climate change. Summary of the annual carbon and cost savings for EcoPlus Manufacturing
Pte Ltd as shown (See Table 7).
Table 7. Overall projected amount and savings of the Eco-solution annual before/after implementation
Through this initiative, we gained confidence and motivation to encourage other industries and businesses to adopt
environmentally responsible practices. We are now more committed to promoting conservation and sustainability for the
future.
The project offered valuable insights into the inner workings of business operations, enabling us to identify areas where
practices were contributing to environmental harm. The team worked collaboratively to develop solutions that would not only
reduce EcoPlus's carbon footprint but also improve its overall efficiency and profitability.
One key outcome of this project was the Reduction of carbon emissions from phenolic dust and powder (phenolic formaldehyde
resin powder), as well as off-cuts from Compact Phenolic Panels and High-Pressure Laminate (HPL) sheets. By implementing
the 3Rs initiatives - Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle and applying the principles of Circular Economy, we successfully upcycled the
off-cuts into new products, such as highly customisable HPL boxes (refer to Annexe A). These boxes, which can be tailored in
terms of size, colour [57] to [59], design, modularity and reconfigurability, add value to EcoPlus Manufacturing's business and
strengthen its commitment to sustainable practices as part of its ongoing "Go-Green" mission.
