The R&D arm of SBA has a core focus on
identifying innovative strategies and tech-
nologies to enhance FT capability and effi-
ciency, and to ensure instructional aspects
of the RAF FT Pipeline remain current in
today’s technological era.

Whilst current R&D focus has primarily
been targeted towards the development
and implementation of VR and
360º camera technology to augment
the FT pipeline, SBA has also engaged
in R&D projects arising as a result of
this work.

Dr Jon Allsop, R&D Psych, has been instru-
mental in the developing the RAF’s under-
standing of cybersickness and implementing
a number of VR/AI related studies.

The Dr Allsop also maintains an enduring
commitment to present on RAF CAM’s Mili-
tary Aeromedical Examiners (MAME) course.
