The sale was again conducted by Glasser

conjunction with Elders Coonamble.
At Calga earlier this year, we again we took advantage of fully funded
training for our staff by organising a Drone course which was run in
conjunction with NSW Farmers and Tocal Agricultural College (we have
previously held Side X Side and Quad Bike training at Calga and Ca-
roonboon). All the Calga team took part along with other participants
from Coonamble and Coonabarabran.
The course was designed by farmers for farmers with the support of
NSW Farmers and was delivered by highly experienced drone operator
and trainer Ben Watts. The course gave the participants a good insight
to Safe and efficient operation of drones in an agricultural contex.
Plus knowledge of Australian laws related to the use of Remote Pilot
Aircraft’s (RPA) for private use. This course taught participants how to
use drones to collect farm data to help them make informed decisions
such as refined fertiliser, sowing, crop and weed management plans,
as well as monitoring and maximising the efficiency of farm water sys-
tems such as checking troughs and leaks.
A great day at Calga Station, as there were a variety of drones that
everyone was able to operate. Ben Watts was a fantastic instructor
and we must thank Andrew Coughlan of NSW that organised the
course and the fantastic lunch. Everyone should take advantage of
these funded opportunities as its an opportunity for team building and
training for staff.
