Solar System

• In our solar system eight planets orbit around the Sun. The planets are Mercury,
Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.

• Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun. It is the fastest planet and it takes 88
days to orbit around the Sun.

• Second planet is Venus, and this is the brightest planet too. Venus takes 225 days
to orbit around the Sun.

• Third planet is Earth. This planet is our home. Earth takes 1 year to orbit around
the Sun. Earth has one moon.

• Fourth planet is Mars and this planet also known as red planet. Mars takes 687
days to orbit around the Sun. Mars also has 2 moons.

• Fifth planet is Jupiter. Jupiter is the largest planet. Jupiter takes 12 years to orbit
around the Sun.

• Sixth planet is Saturn. Saturn has rings made up with rock and dust. Its takes 29
years to orbit around the Sun.

• Seventh planet is Uranus. Uranus has 27 moons and it takes 84 years to orbit
around the Sun.

• Eighth and furthest planet is Neptune. Neptune takes 165 years to orbit around
the Sun.

• Day by day we are always learning about the solar system. There are still so much
to learn.
