DurgaPuja 2019
Math and Me
Suhani Dutta, Grade 6
It’s like doing 3+3
It sort of equals me
It’s like when I’m odd times 2 I equal even
Even if your name is Steven
When I do math, I feel like my identical friend is by my side
Like how water has tides
Sometimes when you need them, they chat
Maybe like a doormat
But my friend come themselves
Like a book on a bookshelf
Sometimes your friend just makes you feel better when your sad
But my friend makes me mad
That might seem bad
But that makes me less sad
My friend that makes me feel like this is math
Now I don’t have to feel the wrath
That’s your mistake
Be like me and make…….
Life Amazing The Rose
Instead of cringing
So join me Varun Sriram, Grade 7
In doing 3+3
Well, Tommy, I’ll tell you
Life for me is a rose
It’s had thorns
And thorns
And more thorns
But this whole time
I’ve been keeping the rose with me
And smelling its sweet fragrance
And not giving up on it
And letting it soar in the sky
Where the fierce wind tries to blow it off course
So Tommy, don’t you try to avoid your rose
Don’t you try to rip off those thorns as sharp as knives
Cause you will hurt yourself and makes things worse
Don’t you throw your rose away
For I’ve been watering mine and keeping it in the shining sunlight
I’ve found beauty in each of its colorful petals
And life for me is a rose with thorns
